Home/Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011
Artavia Automotive attended this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed on the 1st of July and as usual, the largest motoring garden party in the world didn't fail to impress.
The Festival of Speed is unlike any other motoring event. It brings together hundreds of the worlds best supercars from the past and present and gives the public the opportunity to see them take on the famous Goodwood Hill and also get close to them in the display areas. The Festival of Speed weekend this year attracted a staggering 181,000 motoring enthusiasts as well as more than 100 celebrity racing drivers and riders. Celebrated drivers tackling the hill climb this year included Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Nigel Mansell and Sir Stirling Moss.
The 28-metre tall Jaguar E-Type sculpture by Gerry Judah was jaw dropping and a fitting way to mark the iconic car's 50 year anniversary. There was an impressive turnout from the automotive manufacturers this year and the supercar paddock was again bursting at the seams with new models and gave the public a rare chance to get close to their dream cars. For Artavia Automotive, the highlights included the Lamborghini Aventador, the Jaguar XJRS, the Ferrari FF, the Aston Martin Virage and of course the new Alfa Romeo 4C Concept car!
